Top 3 Tips For Optimizing Your Store for Holiday

  1. REVIEW YOUR OFFERINGS! - Review your offerings and merchandise. Crunch the numbers. Ensure all the Featured Items and Best Sellers are front and center and easy to find. You may want to revamp your homepage, re-sequence your collection pages and even go ahead and make some custom landing pages.

  2. SITE SPEED & USER EXPERIENCE! Make sure you’re in decent shape from A to B in your customer journey. Remove dead links, insanely large file sizes, product that is out of stock and never coming back in, update any shipping policies, look at shipping lead times with your carriers. Go through the whole checkout process for yourself. Imagine you are the customer. Ensure the experience is smooth

  3. EXPERIMENT! Try featuring new merchandise, resequence your banners and collections, Try different products for your marketing and ads. Review your audience demographics and try something you think they would like. You make the rules. Get creative. Don’t laser focus on the small details and being perfect. Everyone and every brand starts somewhere. You can always fine tune and polish once you get the sales rolling in. But don’t waste time taking the plunge! And whatever you do- Make sure you save money for marketing! You can have the prettiest site in the world, but if no one knows it exists, they won’t be visiting (or buying!)

Site Speed & a Really Good Article Explaining Why the Shopify Speedometer isn’t All That Accurate

Shopify typically has decent site speed. If you have all your images at a good web size, keeping all the dead apps and clutter cleaned out, You should be in a good place (Yes, theres a lot of other audits and tasks you can do, and an SEO and Speed Audit by a professional is never a bad idea. But if you just want to do some DIY’ing- Heres some good places to start.)
